Mr. Geoff – Academic Grant Writer/Editor
Mr. Geoff is a wide-spectrum academic grant writer/editor who is passionate about the research enterprise and science in general. While ScienceDocs is a team-centric support company, he still considers himself a 1-man service bureau with the mantra “Whatever you need, whenever you need it.” His mindset is to meet clients where they are, meaning that some need more guidance while others need less. He is sensitive to the stresses facing PIs, particularly with new PhDs and those whose first language is not English.
At ScienceDocs, he helps researchers make their grant applications competitive without hijacking their voices. As an academic grant writer and editor, he has successfully worked on a wide variety of grant opportunities, ranging from the sciences (NIH, NSF, DOD, et al) to the humanities (NEA, NEH, foundations). Along with written communication, he has also prepared PIs for video profiles and interviews. He advises every client not to worry about page limits because “articulating the project is your job, making it all fit is mine.”
