Dr. Davidson — Biomedical Grant Writer

Dr. Davidson has been a biomedical grant writer and editor for more than 20 years. She firmly believes in giving grant reviewers what they want- an organized, well written proposal that is responsive to the funder’s priorities and requirements- and guides clients towards that goal. She holds a PhD in Biomedical Engineering and a BA in Arts & Sciences from the University of Virginia.

Dr. Davidson writes and edits grant proposals, journal article manuscripts, white papers, conference presentations, strategic plans, and other documents. She helps clients with medical literature searches, research summaries, and bibliographies. She also coaches investigators to improve their writing and grant skills. Dr. Davidson has served as a grant reviewer and currently serves on the Advisory Board for the South by Southwest Interactive conference.

Dr. Davidson writes and edits on a wide variety of topics. She specializes in health technology, medical devices, mobile health applications, healthcare quality, and medicine. She has written and edited grants on biomanufacturing, cell manufacturing, and cell therapy. Her healthcare policy and quality work addressed patient-centered medicine, patient safety, medical error, and adverse drug events. She worked on projects in biomedical engineering, emergency medicine, cardiology, anticoagulation management, surgery, oncology, obstetrics and gynecology, pediatrics, neonatalogy, and pain management. She wrote grants on complementary & integrative medicine, Alzheimer’s disease, and Gulf War illness.

In addition to healthcare-related topics, Dr. Davidson is experienced with grants on STEM education for girls, technology integration in K-12 education, digital preservation of cultural artifacts, and documentary film. She also edits grants for investigators in chemistry and chemical engineering.

Her clients include startups and small businesses, medical device companies, medical research institutes, healthcare consulting firms, venture capital firms, and non-profit organizations.

She has helped clients prepare and submit grants and other documents to Federal agencies, including the National Institutes of Health (NIH), the National Science Foundation (NSF), the Agency for Health Research and Quality (AHRQ), the Health Services Resource Administration (HRSA), the Department of Defense, and the Department of Education. She is experienced in SBIR/STTR grants, as well as research grants. She also helps clients with grants to state agencies and private foundations.

Prior to becoming a biomedical grant writer, Dr. Davidson was a research professor in pediatrics at Rush University Medical Center in Chicago. She completed a fellowship in neonatal physiology at the University of Calgary.

When not writing, Dr. Davidson enjoys yoga and hiking on the greenbelt with her dog.
