Dr. Caporale is a junior Faculty at UC Davis in the department of Neurobiology, Physiology and Behavior. She received her B.S. in Biology at the University of Buenos Aires and her PhD in Neuroscience at the University of California, Berkeley. Her thesis work focused on sensory processing and synaptic and network mechanisms of plasticity in sensory cortices. She then conducted two postdoctoral fellowships, one focusing on using gene therapy to restore vision in rodent models of blindness, and her second one studying decision making and development of cognitive functions in adolescents. In addition, Dr. Caporale has taught lower and upper division courses on Physiology, Pathophysiology, Cellular and Molecular Neurobiology and Cognitive Neuroscience at UC Berkeley and San Francisco State University. Dr. Caporale has published peer-reviewed articles and reviews and has presented her research both through oral presentations and posters at both national and international scientific conferences. She has over 15 years of experience as a Spanish to English Translator with a focus on scientific documents. With an additional 6 years as an English Editor, Dr. Caporale’s expertise includes cellular and systems neurobiology, biology, physiology, dentistry, sensory systems, electrophysiology and functional imaging techniques.
