Dr. Davies is an accomplished medical editor. She received her Bachelor’s of Science degree in Biochemistry from Clemson University and her Ph.D. in Cell and Developmental Biology from Oregon Health & Science University where her dissertation focused on the role of a defective gene and protein product in the iron overload disease, Hereditary Hemachromatosis. Her postdoctoral studies in the Department of Dermatology involved the study of epithelial cancers, with particular emphasis on those of the gastrointestinal tract and the Wnt signaling pathway. She has in-depth knowledge of intestinal biology, epithelial cancers, tissue regeneration and repair, adult stem cells, and signal transduction. Dr. Davies has over ten years of bench research experience, has published in several peer-reviewed journals, and has critically edited and reviewed manuscripts, grant proposals, and presentation materials. She enjoys the opportunity to mold a project to be most effectively and clearly presented to the scientific community and welcomes projects in the biomedical sciences, specializing in cell and developmental biology.
