Daniel Rogers earned M.A. and Ph.D. degrees in European history from the University of North Carolina. He twice studied at German universities for a year. He has published books and articles in history in English and has translated German and Italian work on history, politics, the history of science, medicine, urban planning, forestry, anthropology, and related fields. He finds the art of rendering German and Italian texts into their closest natural equivalents in English to be stimulating, challenging, and rewarding. Translating combines his love for German and Italian with his desire to write as simply but elegantly as possible in his native English. He has long professional experience proofreading and correcting the work of aspiring writers, and he thus brings a unique level of quality assurance to his final product.
