Ms. Jocelyn obtained her B.S. in Chemical Engineering from the University of Maryland- College Park and her M.S. in Civil and Environmental Engineering (Ecological Engineering focus) from the University of California-Berkeley. After working for several years in the legal field, she became a full-time civil engineering editor, offering copyediting, proofreading, and indexing services. Since then, she has worked for clients ranging from educational nonprofits to graduate students in South Korea. Documents she has worked on include journal articles, project proposals, lesson plans, and whitepapers. Her diverse experiences have given her a feel for different registers of language, allowing her to adapt to editing for a range of audience types while still remaining comfortable with highly technical language. She sees her role as that of bridge between author and audience, helping to ensure that the author is not misunderstood, and understands the importance of following guidelines when submitting to journals. She welcomes ESL/EFL/nonnative English speakers.
