Dr. Gina has been a medical editor and writer since 2005. She has written and edited peer-reviewed manuscripts, NIH RO1 grant proposals, press releases, online articles, college-level educational materials, continuing medical education materials, and conference posters and abstracts. Her research expertise includes metabolic disorders such as diabetes, exercise physiology, nutrition, and biochemistry. She has also written and edited materials on multiple science and medical topics, including clinical research, oncology, gastroenterology, pharmacology, and infectious disease, and feels comfortable writing on several different topics. With this diversity in experience, she creates clear and concise scientific material that is well-suited for the intended audience, whether it be students, scientists, physicians, or non-scientists.

She holds a Ph.D from East Carolina University in the Department of Bioenergetics and Exercise Science, an M.S. in Biokinesiology from University of Southern California, and a B.S. in Physiological Science with an English minor from University of California, Los Angeles. She has authored or coauthored over 200 articles and has been published in multiple peer-reviewed journals. She also oversaw the peer review process and executed acceptance, revision, and rejection decisions for a peer-reviewed journal in the sports medicine field for four years.
