Dr. Sarah is a developmental biologist with more than ten years of research experience. Dr. Sarah graduated Phi Beta Kappa with a B.A. in Biology from the University of Utah. She recently earned a Ph.D. in Neurobiology and Anatomy from the University of Utah. Her dissertation research explored the molecular mechanisms underpinning planarian stem cell biology and regeneration in the laboratory of HHMI Investigator Dr. Alejandro Sánchez Alvarado at the Stowers Institute for Medical Research.

Dr. Sarah has co-authored numerous scientific articles published in Science, Developmental Biology, Developmental Dynamics, and The American Biology Teacher. She wrote two historical reviews for WIRES Developmental Biology and a Springer Methods in Molecular Biology text. She has also written and successfully obtained competitive fellowships and travel grants from the National Science Foundation, the Society for Developmental Biology, the University of Utah, and the Stowers Institute for Medical Research during college and graduate school.

Throughout her training, Dr. Sarah has had the privilege of working with many scientists from around the world. She has extensive experience as a neurobiology editor and proofreader for many of her non-native English speaking colleagues. She has edited scientific manuscripts, reviewer rebuttals, grants, dissertations, and academic job applications. Manuscripts she worked on have been successfully published in such high-profile journals as Science, Developmental Cell, Cell Reports, eLife, and Development.

Dr. Sarah is excited about the opportunity to help international scientists convey their important research to the English speaking world. She looks forward to editing manuscripts and grants in such fields as neurobiology, molecular biology, cancer biology, cell biology, evolutionary biology, biochemistry, genetics, embryology, regeneration, and the history of science.
