Dr. Liana is a neuroscientist with over 8 years of experience in neuroscience research and scientific communication. She received a B.A. in Psychobiology from Wheaton College, MA, where she completed a behavioral and neuroendocrinology Honors Thesis. Dr. Liana then went on to complete her Ph.D. in Neuroscience from the University of Vermont. During her time as a doctoral candidate, Dr. Liana published 3 first-author peer-reviewed papers and 2 first-author review papers, as well as 2 second-author publications. She was also heavily involved in neuroscience outreach, helping lead events such as Brain Awareness Week and the Vermont Brain Bee, a high school neuroscience competition.

 

Dr. Liana received a FIRST (Fellowships in Research and Science Teaching) award to conduct a post-doctoral fellowship at Emory University. During that time, Dr. Liana was an author on 2 peer-reviewed publications, as well as a book chapter. After her post-doctoral fellowship, Dr. Liana spent 2 years in academia as an assistant professor in the Department of Neurological Sciences at the University of Vermont, where she taught anatomy and neuroanatomy to medical students, graduate students, undergraduates, and medical residents. She also continued her passion for scientific outreach, serving as the faculty advisor for the Neuroscience Graduate Program’s outreach program as well as their blog. Dr. Liana received an outreach grant from the American Association of Anatomists to bring gross anatomy education to high school students and teachers.

 

It brings her great joy to assist numerous clients within several different areas of science and medicine, in order to help them create the best possible product.
