Kevin is an experienced NIH SBIR grant consultant, writer and serial entrepreneur. His research has been cited more than 1500 times and he has a current H-index of 24. He has served on almost 20 NIH and foundation grant review panels over the past six years, with a focus on developing novel drug and device treatments for brain disease. At ScienceDocs, he helps entrepreneurs and startup companies with developing non dilutive funding, the development of target product profiles, and pre-clinical/clinical development pathways in the pharmaceutical and medical device space.

Experience: In addition to having served as a ScienceDocs NIH SBIR Grant Consultant, Kevin  has been the co-founder or has served on the scientific or therapeutic development boards of more than 10 companies, including a Therapeutics startup company using drug delivery technology to optimize central nervous system therapies. He has been awarded over 15MM in extramural funding from the National Institutes of Health, the Georgia Research Alliance, the Alzheimer’s Association, and number private foundations. He has undergone advanced entrepreneurial training at the Innovation to Impact program at Yale University and the NIH iCorps program.

Kevin received a B.S. in Biology and Psychology from the University of Georgia and a Ph.D. in Neuroscience from Emory University. He subsequently completed a Postdoctoral Fellowship at the Yerkes National Primate Research Center, where he received his first grant as Principal Investigator (from the National Institute on Drug Abuse), and was promoted to Research Associate. He is currently a tenured Associate Professor of Pharmacology, Toxicology, & Neuroscience as well as an Associate Professor of Psychiatry and Behavioral Medicine.
