Project Manager Ms. Heather has over 10 years of experience managing multi-million-dollar research labs, with average funding upwards of $3,000,000 annually.
Ms. Heather has served for over 10 years as a reviewer/administrator with two different Institutional Review Boards and has written and submitted Human Subjects protocols for several others, including applications for investigator-initiated behavioral studies, and both pharmaceutical and device studies. She has experience creating, administering, and scoring psychometric and imaging protocols; recruiting, screening, obtaining informed consent, shepherding, and debriefing participants (Alzheimer’s disease, Mild Cognitive Impairment, Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, Schizophrenia, Major Depression, Parkinson’s disease, Multiple Sclerosis, Traumatic Brain Injury/Sports Concussion, Suicide/Self-Harm); writing, managing, and annual reporting for grants at all levels (NIH, NIMH, NIA, NICHD, NINDS, SBIR, NSF, DOD, Stanley Foundation, Michael J. Fox Foundation, CMS, CDC, ARRA Supplements, Loan Repayments, Investigator-Initiated, Pharma/Industry Sponsored); managing large-scale data collection protocols; writing, editing, submitting, revising, and resubmitting manuscripts (including working extensively with ESL investigators and serving as the Managing Editor for an internationally-recognized brain imaging journal); creating interactive presentations and conference posters; developing budgets and projections (including a dynamic spreadsheet with 5-year projections for staff and equipment); hiring, training, and managing staff; administrating trainee programs (T32 – recruitment, supervision, documentation); designing research centers, including implementation and management of a 3T MRI Instrumentation Grant (NIH); implementing protocols for collection and storage of genetic and other biomarker (e.g. cytokine) samples; and recruitment, integration, and support of incoming faculty.
Ms. Heather is a graduate of Dartmouth College (BA), and of Franklin Pierce University (MBA), where she was inducted into the Sigma Beta Delta honor society. She also is the recipient of a Q Award for exemplary teaching from the Bok Center at Harvard University, and co-recipient of a $20,000 grant from the Harvard Administrative Innovation Fund (2018) to promote Diversity, Inclusion, and Belonging across several campuses.
