Psychology and Psychiatry Editor Dr. Wright received a B.S. in psychology and a M.S. and Ph.D. in developmental psychology. She is currently in an NRSA-funded postdoctoral position in substance use in a psychiatry department within a medical school. She has expertise in the following areas: development across the life span, with a focus in continued development during older adulthood, cognitive decline, decision making, risk taking (medical, financial, every day), impulsivity, substance use (with a focus on excessive alcohol use), measurement (of alcohol use and development of measures in general), research design, and social science statistics. She has experience in editing grants, journal articles, and as an ad hoc reviewer. In addition to her formal experience in editing, she has also had the pleasure of working closely with students on their research-based papers and with her English-as-a-second-language peers to aid in the development of their English writing skills. Through all of these experiences, Dr. Wright has been able to thoroughly develop her editing skills and takes a fine-tune approach to both her writing and editing. Most importantly, she thoroughly enjoys working with others to reach their full writing potential, which makes the experience that much more valuable to her.
