Russian translatorDr. Dennis: Russian Translator (Russian to English)

Russian Translator Dr. Dennis received a B.S. in chemistry from the University of Missouri-St. Louis and a Ph.D. in inorganic chemistry with a minor in Russian from the University of Florida and did post-doctoral studies in coordination chemistry at The Ohio State University.  His professional career has included positions involved with petroleum additives at Amoco Oil Company (Naperville, IL); actinide and lanthanide research at Argonne National Laboratory (Argonne, IL); technetium radiopharmaceutical discovery and development at Mallinckrodt Medical (St. Louis, MO); radiolabeling of monoclonal antibodies at NeoRx Corp. (Seattle, WA); radioisotope production, nuclear medicine, and nuclear waste disposal at Pacific Northwest National Laboratory (Richland, WA); and radioisotope and radiopharmaceutical manufacturing at Nordion Inc. (Vancouver, BC, Canada); among other areas.

Dr. Dennis began freelance translation of scientific articles and books from Russian to English in 1988 although his familiarity with the Russian language began in 1963.  The scope of subjects has ranged through the years from theoretical quantum chemistry to pharmaceutical chemistry and many areas of chemistry in between, pharmaceutical chemistry, natural products chemistry, electrochemistry, radiochemistry, and inorganic chemistry being some of the more popular ones.  He has also spent several years in Russia working closely with scientists, engineers, and government staff on projects relating to chemistry, medical radioisotope production, and nuclear power, among others.  These projects provided the opportunity to travel extensively in Russia, meet with world-class scientists and engineers, and become thoroughly familiar with the capabilities and resources of the Russian research structure.  The combination of scientific training and language capability enables Dr. Dennis to provide high-quality translations on a variety of chemistry-related topics.
